Our Montafon is a veritable winter wonderland. Walk along the winter footpaths, wrapped up in a woolly hat and scarf, or climb a little way into the hills on snow shoes. Far from the hustle and bustle of the ski slopes you’ll discover a peaceful pristine winter landscape, the perfect place to relax and wind down.
On your toboggan ... get set ... go
Next to the Garfreschabahn lift, right on our doorstep, is one of winter’s real attractions - the 5.5 km long Garfrescha natural toboggan run.
Thanks to a modern system of floodlights, the Garfrescha toboggan run is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, providing fun and enjoyment even for those who are intimidated by the idea of tobogganing down in the dark. With a descent of 640 metres altitude you can be sure of working up enough speed to make it back down to the valley.
The lifts run from 18.00 – 21.30 and you can toboggan down until 23.00. Afterwards why not head for the Vermala Alp for a mulled wine or hot punch? It’s part and parcel of a winter holiday!
By the way, you can hire your toboggan on the spot from Sport Harry at the bottom station of the lift!
Family tobogganing fun is also possible during the daytime on the Hochjoch toboggan runs (down to the middle station at Kropfen) or in Vandans (Latschau Vandans).
