Silvretta-Bielerhöhe
The Silvretta-Bielerhöhe, the transition from the Montafon to the Paznaun Valley, is a hiking paradise in summer and a ski touring hotspot in winter. The Silvretta reservoir blends picturesquely into the landscape. The large reservoir, which is formed by damming the River Ill, is both a technical masterpiece and a popular tourist destination.
Travelling along the Silvretta High Alpine Road with its 34 hairpin bends and a length of 22 km is an experience in itself. In winter, however, the road is closed, but you can still reach the Silvretta Biehlerhöhe ski touring paradise by taking the Vermuntbahn cable car and the tunnel taxi.
Here you can expect breathtaking views as well as art on the mountain - with an art installation at Lake Silvretta, earth light with a view into the depths and a light installation in the winter access tunnel. The Tafamunt cable car takes you into the Verwall mountains, where there are natural gems such as the Wiegensee to discover.
Adrenalin junkies can try out the via ferrata through the dam wall - a real experience.
