Travelling to Montafon by Car
Travelling from Germany, the Benelux Countries & Scandinavia
Take the A7 and A96 motorways to the Lindau/Hörbranz border crossing. Continue into Vorarlberg on the A14, passing Bregenz, Dornbirn and Feldkirch towards Bludenz. Take the Montafon exit and continue past Vandans, Schruns and Tschagguns to St. Gallenkirch. After the turn-off for the Garfrescha Bahn, continue for another 200 metres. You will see the hotel entrance on the left-hand side.
Travelling from Switzerland, France & Liechtenstein
In Switzerland, take the A13 and continue near Schaan in Liechtenstein towards the S16. Cross into Austria at the Schaanwald/Feldkirch-Tisis border crossing, continue through Feldkirch and join the A14 towards Innsbruck. Take the Montafon exit and continue past Vandans, Schruns and Tschagguns to St. Gallenkirch. After the turn-off for the Garfrescha Bahn, continue for another 200 metres. You will see the hotel entrance on the left-hand side.

Travelling from Austria & Italy
Coming from the Brenner Pass or Kufstein, take the A12 towards Bregenz. Continue past Landeck and either travel over the Arlberg Pass at an altitude of 1,793 metres or through the Arlberg Tunnel, where a toll applies. Continue towards Bludenz, take the Montafon exit and drive past Vandans, Schruns and Tschagguns to St. Gallenkirch. After the turn-off for the Garfrescha Bahn, continue for another 200 metres. You will see the hotel entrance on the left-hand side.
SCENIC ALTERNATIVE: From Landeck, travel through Paznauntal, passing Ischgl and Galtür, and continue over the Silvretta Hochalpenstraße via the Bielerhöhe into Montafon (CURRENTLY CLOSED!). A toll applies. From Partenen, continue past Gaschurn. You will see the hotel on the right-hand side, directly beside the St. Gallenkirch village sign.

Enjoy a relaxed journey by train. The nearest ÖBB railway station is Bludenz, from where the Montafonerbahn runs regularly through Montafon to Schruns. From there, continue on Landbus Montafon line 650 to the St. Gallenkirch Garfrescha Bahn bus stop. With advance booking and subject to availability, our hotel shuttle will collect you from Schruns railway station and take you to Genusshotel Vermala. A return transfer to the station is also available on departure.
Travelling by Plane to Montafon
The nearest airports are Zurich and Altenrhein in Switzerland, Memmingen and Friedrichshafen in Germany, and Innsbruck in Austria. From there, you can travel comfortably to St. Gallenkirch by train or hire car. Alternatively, you can book an airport transfer.
