The restaurant - the cornerstone
Since 1971, the doors of our restaurant have been open to guests from all over the world - a meeting place for locals and visitors to the valley.
It all began with a pipe dream of the young senior landlady Rosmarie - the attraction of having her own café after training as a restaurant specialist was great. It was a crazy idea at the time, as Norbert & Rosemarie had their hands full with their parents' screed and floor laying business. Despite lengthy deliberation, the licence was granted in 1971, but not for a café as desired, but with the condition of a restaurant with at least 100 seats. This was because in the 1960s there was great demand for catering for day trippers coming from the Silvretta High Alpine Road. And so the former carpet warehouse was converted into our current restaurant.

The Vermala Ursprung restaurant was recognised as the best game restaurant in Vorarlberg by Vol.at in 2018. We are also an annual fixture among the top restaurants in Vorarlberg at #vorarlbergisst. We are very proud of our kitchen team.

The doors of our restaurant in St. Gallenkirch in the Montafon are open 7 days a week for locals and guests without a day off. We will spoil your palate, whether you enjoy the 5-course evening menu as a house guest as part of the Vermala pampering board or choose from the menu as an à la carte guest.

While romantics and lovers enjoy the togetherness of the Valisera gondolas on the terrace for private dining with panoramic views, in winter you can socialise with live music over cheese fondue or Tatar hats in our Vermala Alp. Further highlights are our Christmas and New Year's Eve menus in the Montafon.
Breakfast at Vermala
At the Genusshotel Vermala, your day starts with a rich breakfast buffet in the Genussviertel. From 07:00 you will be spoilt with everything from orange juice to homemade jam or a traditional Sura cheese.
The buffet breakfast is also available for à la carte guests. Please book in advance.
