Montafon offers 90 kilometres of well-groomed trails for classic and skating styles across 33 cross-country skiing routes of easy and intermediate difficulty. Seventeen kilometres of these trails are located in St. Gallenkirch.
A particular highlight is the trail on the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe at the foot of Piz Buin, the highest mountain in Vorarlberg. At an altitude of 2,032 metres, it is the highest cross-country skiing trail in the entire valley and offers breathtaking views of the Silvretta’s 3,000-metre peaks across its 21 kilometres.

The Montafon Brandnertal Multi-Day WildPass gives you access to ten winter sports areas across Montafon, Brandnertal and Walgau with one ski pass, including complimentary travel by bus and train. For pedestrians and winter hikers, the Sonnen-WildPass is available for stays of 3 days or more. Individual lift journeys can also be purchased directly from the respective lift stations.

Horst Kuster and his llamas and alpacas live in a wonderfully scenic location on Bartholomäberg above Schruns in Montafon. During winter, they accompany walkers on an approximately two-hour trekking tour following in the footsteps of the mountain miners towards Kristberg.
