Snowshoeing in the Montafon
The extensive network of tours in the Montafon offers pure variety, for every ability level and with a landscape that takes your breath away. Far away from the noise and crowds, snowshoeing offers an exciting alternative to skiing - perfect for experienced mountain hikers and also for occasional hikers! You can hire snowshoes from the hotel (subject to availability).
Bielerhöhe - Wiesbadner Hütte

High alpine terrain. The trail leads along the right side of the Silvretta reservoir to its summit. From here, an ascent begins into the Ochsental valley towards the Wiesbadener Hütte. After a refreshment stop, you return the same way. The largest mountain in the Montafon and Vorarlberg - the Piz Buin - is always before your eyes on the ascent. Experience an impressive landscape that will leave a special impression.

Muttjöchle

Panoramic view from the Silvretta - Rätikon - Klostertal - Arlberg - Lechtal Alps. The sporty snowshoe tour to the Muttjöchle starts at the Kristbergbahn mountain station. The trail is marked and signposted as far as the start at the Langried ski piste. From there, follow the tracks of ski tourers and snowshoe hikers through the Muttwald forest. After around 1 ¾ hours, you reach the tree line and it's another 200 metres up to the summit of the Muttjöchle at 2,074 metres. Very, very rewarding!

From Bartholomäberg to the Kristberg, there are countless pink signposted snowshoe tours. You don't always have to go high up, because every snowshoe hike offers magnificent views of the snow-covered Montafon. From the mountain station, the route leads to the Kristberg church and then climbs gently to the Ganzaleita viewpoint. Back again via Fulateia and Schrinawald. Incredibly beautiful!

Gargellner windows

This circular trail makes history. Although this is only a small section of the Gargellner Summer Window, it is well worth it. 2 of a total of 10 Gargellner Windows are on this snowshoe route. The tour starts at the Gargellner Bergbahnen car park and leads back via Brentawald and Alptobel. If you want to go further, you can extend the tour in the direction of Vergalden.

From Gortipohl to Gaschurn and back

This tour starts in the Schattenort district of Gortipohl at the tennis court car park. Passing Diana's Schnitzelstöbli, the trail leads slightly uphill through the forest on the Sprisalochweg towards Gaschurner Berg. At 1100 metres above sea level, the trail descends again towards Illweg and back again. After the Mountain Beach, don't miss the turn-off to the Ill. Explore the Montafon and its special features on the wintery paths.

From Großvermunt to the Silvretta Bierlerhöhe

This tour runs in high alpine terrain above the tree line. It is best to tell the driver of the tunnel taxi (from the Vermuntbahn mountain station) that you would like to get off at Grossvermunt (3rd hairpin bend after the Vermunt reservoir) and then hike above the carriageway on snowshoes to the Bielerhöhe. The 3000 metre peaks of the Silvretta group are always in view.
